This software, written in C#, carries out linear combination fitting (LCF) using Microsoft Excel’s LinEst function. It is adapted to, but not limited to, use for XANES-LCF. The program is similar to the LCF option in Athena, but it runs much faster, which is of particular interest when carrying out uncertainty analysis calculations according to Gustafsson et al. (2020). Before using the program, you first need to produce merged and normalized XANES spectra in other software such as Athena or Larch. A pdf guide accompanies the program to get you started. To use this software, you need to have a 64-bit Windows operating system (at least Windows 10), and Microsoft Excel should be installed.
The last update was made on 18 May 2025. Version 1.1 is a major update that corrects an issue concerning the method to calculate uncertainties in cases when the probabilistic option (‘uncertainty analysis mode’) was being used. With the current version, uncertainties usually become a little larger. In addition, a few issues in the GUI were fixed. The user guide has been extended with a detailed account of how uncertainty analysis is being made.
